The River Bracelet
It is a pleasure to present to you the River Bracelet made my skilled jewellery maker, Eileen Morrow. Eileen is based in Brighton and makes beautiful organic pieces that reflect her Gaelic heritage. It is made of copper and the design reflects the surface of a mountain river.
Talking about the design Tom says, “There is a time on a river’s journey down the mountain where the surface looks like this where the water is dancing and celebrating and the sound is like the excited voices of people at a festival in a town square. It comes after the roar and speed of the purposeful and magnificent rapids and falls of the high mountains like a pride of Lions chasing an antelope through the gorge, but before the flat calm, serenity, quiet strength and unity of the valley floor. There is lots of movement on the water and small waves and indentations that cover the surface and I wanted this bracelet to remind me of being in those places. I hope that when people wear it they will sense the river, the comforting sound of it, its joy. The river is an important place and I am grateful to the river for peace, love, comfort, happiness and strength. The bracelet represents those gifts and no matter where you are it is a way of having the river with you. As ever, I wish peace and love.”
We would like to thank Eileen for making such a beautiful bracelet and, through her skill, reflecting an important part of Tom’s lifestyle. It is made with care and consideration and the weight and width of the bracelet make it very comfortable to wear and easy to put on and take off.
